Strategic Foresight Lab

Lead schools that prepare, not just react.

A six-session lab that uses AI to widen what school leaders notice, challenge what they assume, test what they choose, and launch one safe-to-fail strategic experiment within 30 days. Built around the SIGNAL framework — Scan, Interpret, Generate, Navigate, Act, Learn — every session contributes to a single one-page Future-Ready Action Brief you walk into a senior-team meeting.

What you'll master

By the end, you'll be able to —

  • Use AI to identify weak signals and emerging trends relevant to your school context
  • Distinguish trends, uncertainties, assumptions, and hype — and label AI outputs by confidence
  • Generate multiple plausible future scenarios rather than relying on one predicted future
  • Identify strategic implications across teaching, staffing, assessment, wellbeing, operations, and parent expectations
  • Communicate uncertainty calmly and clearly to staff, parents, and governance
  • Design a safe-to-fail 30-day experiment with named owner, communication plan, and kill switch
  • Apply human judgment checks and a 4 Voices stakeholder check before committing to action

FAQ

Questions, before you commit

No. Strategic planning commits to priorities and often assumes a stable context. Strategic foresight explores plausible futures so leaders can make better decisions now. Foresight improves the quality of strategic planning; it does not replace it. The lab is built around that distinction.

AI plays named roles each session — foresight coach, horizon scanner, pattern spotter, scenario generator, strategy critic, experiment designer. Every AI activity has a course-provided prompt you copy into ChatGPT or Claude, plus a 'Save AI's output here' textarea that feeds the cumulative brief. AI extends what you can notice; you keep judgment.

A one-page Future-Ready Action Brief that assembles across the six sessions — your school context, five signals, T/U/A map, three scenarios, strategic options, and a 30-day safe-to-fail experiment with named owner and review date. Designed to be discussable in a 30-minute senior-team meeting. Exportable as PDF or markdown.

Rivergate is a fictional Gulf international school threaded through every session. You can toggle the brief panel between your brief and Rivergate's at any point after you've started writing your own — useful as 'here's what done looks like.'

SFL is included in the 4-course Lead with AI bundle ($30 for all four — Data Detective, Crisis Management, Clone Yourself, Strategic Foresight Lab — saving $15 on standalone pricing). If you only want SFL, the standalone option is $15. If you'll also use any one of the other three programmes, the bundle is cheaper than buying two courses separately.
