Animal and plant cells (KS3)
How to read this model
- It is a flat, simplified drawing of one cell. Real cells are three-dimensional, most are too small to see without a microscope, and they come in many shapes.
- It is not to scale. The colours are only there to tell the parts apart.
- Each label points to one example. A cell can have many mitochondria, and a cell from the green part of a leaf can have many chloroplasts.
- Some parts are left out, to keep the model simple.
